About the Author & What makes a good Christmas Market.
My name is Jacinta and I run The Laminated Cotton Shop . I attend market events year round with my handmade business. These are my top market picks for November & December 2026. And I do have skin in the game here. I’ve booked and paid most of these markets for a spot to attend as a vendor. When I choose these events I do research. These are the things I check and believe are important for a good Christmas market.
1- Quality of stalls and curation. A good Christmas market needs to sell genuine handmade items and have actual local makers selling good quality products.
2- Location. The markets need to be at an accessible location with public transport or easy parking options and held at a reasonable time of day (or evening) .
3- Vibe and friendliness. I have to spend all day at the markets I sell at so they need to be friendly calm and comfortable locations that people want to spend time in.
This list includes markets I have attended before and I know they draw good foot traffic. So that makes me think lots of other people agree with these picks too. If you’re in Melbourne go along to a market and see what you think. I hope you have an awesome time xx
