& why cotton is good for your hair and scalp
At Laminated cotton shop we have tested, made and analysed lots of shower caps before coming up with our bestselling caps. And we keep coming back to the same conclusion. Having natural cotton inside a shower cap makes a big difference. Here’s why:
1- Cotton is a Natural Fibre
A shower cap sits directly against your hair and scalp in a hot shower. That means the fabric inside your shower cap needs to be gentle against your skin. If your shower cap has a natural cotton inner it means the cap will be non irritating and soft to wear. This also means a shower cap with a cotton inner should be suitable for all skin types.
2- Cotton breathes
It just does. Cotton fabric breathes. If you have a shower cap over your hair with cotton on the inside it’s going to let your scalp breathe. This is just better for your hair health. Not to mention protecting your hair from steam and static.
3- Cotton Has No Microplastics
Natural cotton is just that. Natural. Cotton inside a shower cap can’t shed microplastics under a hot shower while you’re wearing it. A shower cap with cotton inside also won’t release microplastics when you wash it. Which brings us to the next point
4- Cotton is easy to wash
No matter what shower cap you use, the inside fabric will absorb your natural hair oils. This means over time it collects odours and bacteria. This is why it’s ideal to have a shower cap you can machine wash or even handwash. Just go for a shower cap you can clean so it will last you a long time.
